Come to South Downs College


South Downs College has teamed up with Havant Literary Festival to host a number of different literary events, from the 30 September to the 10 October, aimed at the college’s students.

Havant Literary Festival is back at South Downs to give students an opportunity to enjoy something new. The Festival itself is open to the public around the Havant area.

Partnering with other schools in the local vicinity, it is an opportunity to bring the community together with the joy of literature.

Sarah Reed, the host of the Festival at South Downs explains,

“It’s a great chance to celebrate books and enjoy literate.”

To celebrate National Poetry Day the college is holding recitals on the 3rd of October a long with a variety of other events including a quiz and a book swap.

The book character parade is set to be the last of the events, it is a chance for nursery children to become their favourite character and join in the fun.

From 30 September to 9 October is the Book Vote in the Library. On the 1 October from 12:30-1:30 the Book Swap will be help in the Library Link-Way. The 3 October will hold 2 events, the Fiction Café in the Studio Café from 12:30-1:30 and the Poetry Recitals in room 134 from 14:30-15:30.
On the 7 October will be the quiz night from 18:00-20:30 in the North Café and finally is the Book Character Parade on 8 October.
